Fosters are the most important members of Pup Squad. Without foster homes, Pup Squad would not exist. Since we do not have a shelter location, all our puppies and adult dogs live in foster homes until they are adopted.
When we take animals into our program from the streets or from shelters they often have health issues. In foster homes they are given the medical attention, socialization, and of course the love they need to become great family pets. Fosters are responsible for ensuring that their animals are cared for and that any health problems they have are addressed. Our foster coordinators ensure that our fosters are provided with the medication and support they need to accomplish this.
Fostering is definitely not an easy task. Sometimes, our puppies do not make it. And if they do, it can be hard to let go of them even if you know they are going to a wonderful, loving home. But the rewards are enormous. Knowing that you have taken a puppy in and given it a chance for a happy, full life is certainly payment enough.
